Our Services and the Steps to Buying Sports Lighting

Where do you begin? What needs to be considered?  What services can NSSLC provide?

Initial Consultation

NSSLC collaborates with you to identify your specific lighting needs, goals, and site requirements. This consultation includes discussions about the types of sports played, the existing lighting infrastructure, and budget considerations.

Site Evaluation and Viability Assessment

A comprehensive site assessment is conducted to evaluate the practicality of the lighting system. This process includes analyzing the facility’s layout, electrical infrastructure, structural conditions, field dimensions, fixture mounting heights, and potential obstructions.

Customized Lighting Design

NSSLC leverages its team of in-house engineers to create customized lighting solutions that meet the specific need of your athletic facility. By following industry best practices, the design ensures optimal performance, compliance with IES standards, energy efficiency, environmental friendly designs, and alignment with both technical and aesthetic goals.

Material Procurement and Installation Planning

To ensure you receive exactly what you need, NSSLC recommends utilizing purchasing cooperatives such as Sourcewell. These cooperatives evaluate suppliers based on factors like pricing, warranties, service capabilities, and product quality. NSSLC will review proposals to verify they meet design specifications and align with your objectives and budget. Recognizing that installation costs can vary significantly between suppliers, NSSLC takes these differences into account when selecting the material supplier. Once a supplier is chosen, NSSLC will support the competitive bidding process for the installation to complete the project efficiently.

Project and Contractor Oversight

NSSLC will act as the owner’s representative and manage the sports lighting installation. This includes overseeing the project schedule to meet deadlines, verifying job site readiness, coordinating with contractors ensuring it is installed according to plan, minimizing disruptions, and serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project.

Post Installation Performance Verification

NSSLC will evaluate light levels and uniformities to ensure compliance with the lighting design and specifications.
